Paints and coatings are used as decorative as well as protective coatings
In addition to serving as
protective coatings, paints and coatings can also be decorative. The majority
of paints are employed to boost the surface's resistance to adverse
environmental factors. They are divided into four categories: speciality
coatings, powder coatings, solvent-borne coatings, and waterborne coatings.
Some of the key end-use industries for paints and coatings are rail,
construction, marine, autos, packaging, furniture, and aerospace.
As a not-for-profit organisation,
Paints
and Coatings Skill Council was established in October 2015 in
accordance with Section 8 of The Companies Act 2013. Industry organisations
including the Indian Paint Association (IPA), the Indian Small Scale Paint Association
(ISSPA), and the Indian Paints & Coatings Association support it (IPCA).
The council intends to promote and establish an ecosystem required to bridge
the skill shortages and solve the evolving challenges across all trades in the
industry by combining standardised curricula with advanced evaluation technologies
for quality assurance.
In order to support quicker
sector growth and provide better value to the end user, Paints and Coatings
Skill Council collaborates closely with the industry to understand its needs
and meet its expectations.
